Our client reached out after their first home inspection. They were noticing water intrusion along the drywall on the first floor. The damaged chimney had moved far enough away from the house over the years to allow water and pests to find their way into the home. This left behind mold and rot that we completely remediated. From the roof repair to the regrading of the soil, we gave the repair the time and attention necessary.

This new sliding door improved the value of our client's home, added convenience, and addressed water intrusion issues. After taking out the old double door, we found significant rot that required the back steps to be moved away from the house. We carefully removed the steps, replaced the rotted band joist, and then carefully replaced the steps. All was completed to code and our client's wants.

Sometimes a window doesn't need to be replaced. For this home owner, cost and longevity was top of mind. The window sill and trim was rotten. We removed all the rot and replaced the window sill and trim with pine from a local mill (higher quality and less expensive than big box stores). Then we re-flashed, sealed, and painted.

Our goal is to completely understand a problem before working on the solution. This flat roof membrane, protecting a historic building in Albany, was in disrepair close to the drain and along the lowest part of its slope. Render was contacted by the owner because water was pouring into the top floor tenants’ apartment after heavy rain. The roof membrane’s disrepair was the likely culprit, but after further investigation a mesh drain guard had worked its way into the drain. The mesh drain guard clogged the drain, leading to water pooling on the roof that then found its way over the roof system, down the masonry wall, into the attic, and onto the tenants kitchen table. We addressed all aspects of the roof in the repair, including trimming tree branches, choosing and installing the appropriate drain for the roof, and replacing all rotted decking.

The existing door was rotten and not closing properly. In addition, the door opened into the garage which limited the home owner's storage capacity. Installing an exterior door that opens to the outside is uncommon and presents odd challenges. We kept the original look of the old door and trim to match the rest of the house. It's the little things that count sometimes.
